Staff rewards and recognition
A smooth experience for recipients
Tailored to your needs

Rewarding your employees doesn't have to be complicated. Gift vouchers offer a thoughtful and tax-efficient way to show your appreciation, making everyday recognition feel that little bit more special. From celebrating small achievements to saying thank you for a job well done, a gift voucher is a simple gesture that leaves a lasting impression.
With the UK's trivial benefits exemption, eligible gifts worth up to £50 can be given without additional tax or National Insurance contributions. A smart and effortless way to recognise your team, while giving them the freedom to choose something they'll truly enjoy. Employee appreciation, made simple and rewarding.

A trivial benefit is a small gift given to an employee by an employer that, under HMRC rules, carries no tax. According to Gov.uk, employers do not have to pay tax on a trivial benefit for your employee if all of the following rules apply.
When all four of the rules apply, there are no taxes or National Insurance to pay and no need to report the gift to HMRC. A benefit that does not meet all four of the rules is not classified as a trivial benefit and is taxed in the normal way.

HMRC's guidance says a non-cash gift voucher can count as a trivial benefit, while cash and cash equivalent gift vouchers, that is gift vouchers that can be exchanged for cash, do not qualify as trivial benefits. HMRC gives the example of a Christmas gift that is given to all staff regardless of individual performance qualifying as a trivial benefit; but gift vouchers that are handed out individually for hitting defined targets do not qualify.
The £50 cost is the cost limit per employee, VAT included, and a gift that costs more is taxable in full. Trivial benefits given through salary sacrifice are not exempt. Directors of a close company, that is defined as a limited company run by 5 or fewer shareholders, cannot receive trivial benefits worth more than £300 per director in one tax year.
The rules on trivial benefits can change, so be sure to check the current HMRC guidance on trivial benefits before you place an order.

Within a £50 budget, it’s not the value that makes the statement, it’s the ability for the employee to ultimately decide how to spend it that makes an impression. The Choice Gift Voucher lets each employee choose from over 350 top brands across different gift categories, which makes it a suitable gift for teams with mixed tastes and interests.
An Amazon Gift Voucher is a familiar option that has a wide appeal, while the John Lewis Gift Voucher comes across as a more premium gift. For a smaller gesture, such as a welcome for a new starter, a Costa Gift Voucher fits the moment without making too much of it. We offer a range of gift vouchers to suit various types of businesses and employees. Of course you’ll want to choose gift vouchers that your employees will appreciate, but just as important is giving gift vouchers that reflect your company’s brand identity in some way.

An employee gift should look like it comes from the company. That’s why we offer the option to brand gift vouchers with your company logo, or with other branding of your own design instead of our standard voucher design layouts. You can also include a personal message that is delivered with each individual gift voucher, even on bulk orders. That means you can recognise each employee rather than sending out generic messages which can feel a bit hollow.
Physical gift vouchers can be delivered in a gift envelope or a box, to make them more presentable when it’s time to hand them over in person. Keep in mind that HMRC counts the total cost of each gift, so take care to keep any additional extras within the £50 limit.

Ordering trivial benefits gift vouchers for a team works in two ways. Smaller orders go through the website as usual, with your company details added during checkout. Larger orders are handled by our business account managers over the phone or by email, with orders processed by invoice. Contact the business account team using the quote form to start building your order and receive a custom quote within 1 hour.
Digital gift vouchers are sent by email, either to you or directly to each recipient, while physical gift vouchers are delivered by post. Personalisation with your company logo or design is arranged with the business account team. To receive a quote for your employee gift vouchers, start building your order and we’ll get back to you.
